My name is Kerrianne Greer and I am a certified End of Life Doula (Australian Doula College/Doula Support Solutions), located on Birpai Country on the NSW Mid North Coast, Australia.
My practice encompasses support for both humans and humans and their pets as they journey through the experience of transitioning toward end of life passages, dying and death.
I consider it a privilege to be invited into this sacred space, supporting you and your loved ones during deeply raw, emotional and vulnerable times.
My Journey to Becoming an End of Life Doula.
My path to becoming an End of Life Doula has been shaped by an intrinsic commitment to ritual in honouring death and dying, beginning with my beloved pets. This practice was present in me long before I knew it had a name, arising naturally from my experiences and the way I approached the loss of my pets.
Professionally I bring 30 years of experience in Early Childhood, Music and Primary Education and Teaching, complemented by postgraduate studies in trauma. My work has always wrapped around children and families fostering a foundation of empathy, advocacy and practical assistance that informs my current practice.
My lived experience is vast and my personal journey includes navigating a complex cancer diagnosis at the age of 41, my mother’s breast cancer journey and the death of my father from dementia. These experiences, along with mourning the loss of cherished family members, friends, pets and students has deeply influenced my understanding of death, grief and the importance of compassionate, often quiet support throughout these times. Honouring that grief has no rules and is as unique as each grain of sand. I also volunteer at Tender Funerals Mid North Coast.
I am dedicated to offering non- biased, gentle, holistic and inclusive support walking beside you and your loved ones providing compassionate presence and guidance.
I am committed to empowering your sense of agency in the midst of challenging circumstances and working collaboratively with care teams and medical professionals. My approach is grounded in gentle respect, working with you to ensure your path is honoured in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you.
With thanks,
Kerrianne.
